A seminar on the suppression of illegal trafficking of ozone-depleting substances was held for customs officers


A seminar on the prevention of illegal trafficking of ozone-depleting substances was held at the Training Center under the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, the agency's website reports.
The participants of the seminar were students of the initial training course for customs officers of Turkmenistan. They raised the awareness of Turkmenistan's compliance with its obligations under the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer, the Kigali Amendment to the Protocol, the Vienna Convention on the Protection of the Ozone Layer, as well as legislative acts in this area.
During the event, methods of customs control of ozone-depleting substances and recommendations for their use at checkpoints were discussed.
The workshop was organized by the Ozone Center under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection as part of a joint project with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
