Women of the SCO member states discussed mutually beneficial cooperation


An international scientific and practical conference "Women in the SCO space: mutually beneficial cooperation" was held in Tashkent, Xinhua news agency reports with reference to the press service of the SCO People's Diplomacy Center in Uzbekistan.
The purpose of the event is to discuss issues of increasing the role of women in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, exchange experiences and stimulate their participation in the implementation of socio-political, socio-economic reforms in society.
The participants discussed the results achieved in this area, analyzed the foreign experience of women's participation in the socio-political and socio-economic life of the state.
They spoke in favor of coordinating efforts to improve the state policy and legislative framework for the functioning of the social protection system for women and noted that the widespread use of best practices and innovative approaches of the SCO member states will be an important basis in this direction.
The equality of women, their full participation in solving political and socio-economic problems, is considered by the governments of the SCO countries as one of the priority conditions for economic development, democratization and stability of society.
As a result of the conference, relevant recommendations and proposals were developed that will become the basis for the preparation of new projects and programs to protect the rights and interests of women, promote women's leadership and women's entrepreneurship and sustainable dialogue in the SCO space.
The event was organized as part of the implementation of the provisions of the Treaty on Long-term Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation of the SCO member states. It was attended by representatives of the Senate and the Legislative Chamber of the Parliament of Uzbekistan, heads of women's organizations of the SCO countries, representatives of business, culture, science and education.
