Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran to visit Turkmenistan
Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran Mehrdada Bazrpash will pay a visit to Turkmenistan. This is stated in the message of the Iranian news agency "Mehr" about the meeting held in Tehran on the eve of this visit to prepare for the 17th meeting of the Turkmen-Iranian joint economic commission, which will be held in Ashgabat.
At the beginning of the meeting, a report was presented on the state of Iranian-Turkmen relations and the promotion of previous agreements between the two countries.
Particular attention was paid to the potential of bilateral trade through the four border crossings between Iran and Turkmenistan, the possibility of facilitating border traffic.
According to the reports presented at the meeting, Iran's exports to Turkmenistan amounted to 741 thousand tons worth $ 321 million, and imports from Turkmenistan – 122 thousand tons worth $ 243 million.
In addition, issues such as transit, tariffs, "green" customs, rail, road, sea and air transportation between Iran and Turkmenistan were discussed on the agenda.
