Turkmen swimmers won six medals on the second day of the Asian Open Championship


Six medals - four gold, one silver and one bronze - were won by Turkmen athletes on the second day of the competition at the Asian Open Aquatics Championships held in Bangkok (Thailand).
According to ORIENT in the Turkmenistan Aquatics Federation, the gold medal in swimming at a distance of 50 meters on the back (27.58 seconds) was won by the master of sports of international class Merdan Atayev. The bronze medalist in this heat was Musa Jalaev, who overcame the distance in 28.48 seconds.
Anastasia Morgenstern also rose to the highest step of the podium in swimming at a distance of 200 meters freestyle (2 minutes 28 seconds). Another gold medal in the piggy bank of the Turkmen national team was brought by Aynura Primova in the 50-meter backstroke (32 seconds).

Two medals - gold and silver - were awarded to David Hakobyan. He won gold in the 4x50 meters complex swimming (5 minutes 3 seconds) and silver in the 50 meters breaststroke (1 minute 10 seconds).
Thus, after two days of competition, the Turkmen swimmers have 13 medals, including seven gold, five silver and one bronze.
The Asian Open Aquatics Championship brought together the best swimmers from 12 countries. In addition to the main disciplines, the competitive program of the tournament in Bangkok included diving and a water field.
