The Ministry of Health and UNICEF presented an application for mother and child home visiting services

The Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan and UNICEF have presented the country's first mobile application, which should improve the efficiency of mother and child home visit services, according to a UNICEF press release.
In practice, this means that home visiting services provided by medical professionals will now include prevention and counseling tools that will directly contribute to improving maternal and child health and nutritional outcomes, as well as early detection of developmental disorders, the report says.
Thanks to the new standards and applications installed on the tablet computers of health workers, mothers and children will receive the best services from the very first days.
During the period from February 28 to March 3, all medical workers of the three selected medical institutions were trained in using the new home visits application. This group of trailblazers will test the app in the coming months before it is distributed nationwide at the primary health care level.
The Mother and Child Home Visiting Service is a form of work with parents of young children, which involves visits by doctors to families to provide assistance and advice. It plays an important role in the early detection and treatment of complications and saving the lives of newborns.
