The Turkmen theater "Artist" will take part in the theater festival of the CIS countries "Meetings in Russia" in St. Petersburg


The oldest St. Petersburg festival celebrates its quarter-century anniversary this year. From April 7 to 16, the XXV International Theater Festival of the CIS countries "Meetings in Russia" will be held in the Northern Capital, which this year is timed to the 200th anniversary of the Russian playwright Alexander Ostrovsky, the CIS Internet portal reports.
Creative teams of Russian-speaking theaters from ten CIS countries – Azerbaijan, Armenia, Abkhazia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Russia, Uzbekistan - will gather in St. Petersburg. Turkmenistan will be represented at the forum by the troupe of the capital's theater "Artist" with the play "Profitable Place" based on the play by Alexander Ostrovsky, which premiered in Ashgabat last November. The director of the production is Mekan Jumabayev, the main roles are played by artists Vasily Andronov, Igor Annaklychev, Nina Supanko, Mekan Jumabayev and others.
The organizer of the St. Petersburg theater festival is the Baltic House Theater-Festival. Traditionally, the forum participants are Russian theaters operating outside of Russia. Creative teams and artists annually present their best performances on the St. Petersburg stage, opening up new opportunities for cultural exchange and the creation of joint international projects.
Russian Russian Theater Abroad as an Institute of Russian Culture" and "Fair of Young Directing" International conferences are also included in the festival program. Here, students and graduates of the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts will present their new theater projects and arrange a presentation of future productions.
