The Orchestra of Tahir Atayev: on waves of "nonclassical" classics
Ashgabat music fans look forward to the concerts of the string band of Tahir Atayev. The young conductor literally for some performances has accustomed the public to be surprised.
So on Saturday evening of November 2 in the capital film concert hall "Turkmenistan" for many listeners it became a new "discovery" of famous European composers: Mozart, Bach, Vivaldi, and Schnittke.
Performed by the string band the most popular works of famous authors sounded «Small night serenade», «Suite in ancient style» and others, including not most famous works of renowned authors.
"Innovations" for the Turkmen public became the work of the brightest representative contrabass art of Italy of the 21st century Giovanni Bottesini - "Elegy", outstanding Polish violinist Henryk Wieniawski - " Scherzo-Tarantelle ", the Romanian Gipsy composer and violinist-virtuoso Grigoraș Dinicu - «March round dance». Organically in European melody of the concert the composition of Azerbaijan composer Kara Karayev - «Funeral ode» joined.
"Atypical" – with such epithet it is possible to characterise the list of pworks chosen to perform by Tahir Atayev. Such mix from works you will seldom meet. Easy and romantic melodies are replaced difficult and dramatic, classical musical designs and rhythms - national motives.
And all is seasoned by a note of an experimenter’s enthusiasm as if the conductor and its orchestra throw a challenge to itself: whether «we can? ».
While there is no failure. After all on the stage together with Atayev are such eminent, despite youth, musicians as Bahram Dolyev, Akmurad Kurbanov, Gozel Matkarimova, Aydar Botoyarova, Guvanch Saryev, Altyn Nurmuradova, Mayagozel Yazmedova.
The orchestra with each work hits the mark, expanding an outlook of Turkmen fans of classics and fulfilling an idea of the conductor: to acquaint the public with something new. After all, the treasury of world classics is really boundless.
Ovation and words of admiration certainly, worth it. Musicians and spectators leave the hall satisfied with each other. And with impatience they wait for the new meetings, and are sure that Tahir Atayev again will surprise them.
