The women's championship of Turkmenistan in volleyball and goalball among the disabled was held in Avaza


The women's championship of Turkmenistan in volleyball among people with hearing disabilities and goalball between visually impaired people took place in the Avaza touristic zone.
The tournament, organized by the Central Physical Culture and Sports Club of the Disabled of the country, brought together about a hundred athletes from all regions and the capital of Turkmenistan.
The team from Balkanabat won gold medals in volleyball. Athletes from Dashoguz took second place. The Lebap region closed the top three.
In the discipline of goalball, the representatives of Ashgabat turned out to be the best, in the final match they prevailed over their rivals from the Balkan region. The bronze medals went to the team from Mary.
Azat Narbayev, representative of the Central Physical Culture and Sports Club of the Disabled of the country, told ORIENT that holding such events is an important part of social adaptation and rehabilitation of people with disabilities. Sport helps disabled people to improve their physical and mental condition, increase self-esteem and self-confidence, expand the circle of communication and interests.
