Uztransgaz prepares infrastructure for gas import from Russia

Uztransgaz JSC is preparing its infrastructure for gas imports from Russia, the company's press service reported on Friday.
According to the report, the Gazli Department of Main Gas Pipelines is carrying out the necessary installation work on internal and main gas pipelines.
"The goal is to make sure that the volume of natural gas imported from Russia does not mix with the volume of domestic transportation. Thus, separate transportation will be organized in each direction," the message in the Uztransgaz telegram channel says.
Last November, Russia proposed to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan to create a "triple gas union" involving the transportation of Russian gas through the territories of these countries.
At the beginning of December last year, Uzbekistan completely stopped exporting natural gas due to an increase in domestic consumption during the cold weather. Planned power outages were introduced in the republic due to frosts and a shortage of blue fuel. According to the authorities, during the winter peak loads, there is a shortage of gas in the republic up to 20 million cubic meters per day.
