A chicken living with a pensioner from the USA was listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the oldest chicken in the world. On March 3, she turned 20 years and 306 days old.
The chicken's name is Peanut, she was born in the spring of 2002. Peanuts is a representative of the bantam (decorative) breed of chickens, it is a cross between two breeds: d'yuckla and Nanking.
The owner of the chicken, Marcy, noted that Peanut lives longer than not only her parents, but also her descendants. On average, domestic chickens live from 5 to 10 years.
