The Russian-Iranian company to be engaged in the transit of goods by road through the territory of Iran

The transport company, created with the participation of the Caspian cluster and the largest Iranian fund "Mostazafan", will carry out the transit of goods by road through the territory of Iran. This will help speed up cargo transportation along the North-South International Transport Corridor (ITC), Sergey Milushkin, Director General of Lotos Special Economic Zone JSC believes, TASS reports.
“In the coming years, we see the Trans-Caspian route as the main one in the Caspian region, since the construction of a railway in Iran to launch the western route and an increase in throughput through Turkmenistan - for the eastern route, will take at least several years. In order to transport goods now, with the participation of a PSEZ resident, a Russian-Iranian company was registered, which will be engaged in the transit of goods through the territory of Iran by road. From the Iranian side, the project involves a company that is part of the Iranian Mostazafan Foundation, which guarantees the timely supply of vehicles and the safety of goods,” Milushkin said. This will ensure the unhindered progress of transit cargo traffic from the northern ports of Iran to the southern ones and will develop multimodal transportation along the North-South ITC route, he specified.
On February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin, in his message to the Federal Assembly, announced that Russia would pay special attention to the development of the North-South ITC. This will open up new routes for business cooperation with India, Iran, Pakistan and the countries of the Middle East.
