Members of the Government Commission for the Study of issues related to Turkmenistan's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) attended the Winter Academy-2023 course at the World Trade Institute of the University of Bern, Switzerland.

This is reported in the press release of the Ready4Trade Central Asia project, which organized the visit together with the International Trade Center.

The modules of the "Winter Academy-2023" consisted of three stages of training and were devoted to topics that are of great importance in the process of Turkmenistan's accession to the WTO. In particular, the participants got acquainted with the WTO rules on border measures and trade facilitation, subsidies and countervailing measures, as well as replenished the knowledge base on trade in services policy.

During the training, issues related to trade in the private sector, the specifics of negotiations and their regulation were also touched upon.

Its activities are aimed at promoting a better understanding of global trade and its impact on countries and businesses, as well as providing the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in international trade and the economy.
