From March 1, Hong Kong residents will be able to be on the street, in public transport and indoors without medical masks for the first time in 2.5 years. Restrictions will remain only for medical institutions. This was announced by the head of the megapolis administration Li Jiachao.
"From tomorrow, the government cancels the mandatory wearing of masks, including indoors, outdoors and in transport," he wrote on the social network.
The mask regime in Hong Kong was introduced in July 2020. Initially, it was assumed that wearing masks would last 2 weeks, but then the restrictions were repeatedly extended. Earlier, the mandatory wearing of masks on the street was canceled in Macau.
