The Global Institute for Green Growth has invited the Turkmen Foreign Ministry to consider and sign the "Host Country Agreement" and open an office in Turkmenistan, the website of the country's foreign ministry reports.

This became known following the meeting of the director of the Institute Frank Riisberman with the Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov.

During the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan stated that the Turkmen side will continue to implement programs to reduce methane emissions, adding that such work is carried out in the oil and gas sector through the utilization of associated petroleum gas and reducing natural gas losses.

The position of Ashgabat regarding further cooperation was also outlined, which, as noted in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, should be based on the development of joint projects on the study of forest zones created in Turkmenistan, the introduction of new methods and green technologies.

Turkmenistan's commitment to the Paris Agreements within the framework of ambitious goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 was emphasized.

The Global Green Growth Institute supports developing countries that adhere to economic growth based on green solutions. The main goal of the Institute is to stimulate the integration of economic growth and environmental sustainability in the world, regardless of ownership forms, for the future of all mankind.
