Gazprom and Iran discussed issues of energy cooperation


A working meeting was held today between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Board, and Kazem Jalali, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Russian Federation.
The parties discussed topical issues of energy cooperation, according to the Gazprom website.
In July 2022, Gazprom PJSC and National Iranian Oil Company signed a Memorandum of Understanding on strategic cooperation. The document provides for an analysis of the possibilities of interaction, in particular, in the following areas: the development of Iran's gas and oil fields, the implementation of exchange operations with natural gas and petroleum products, the implementation of large-tonnage and low-tonnage LNG projects, the construction of main gas pipelines, scientific, technical and technological cooperation.
Gazprom's Representative Office has been operating in Iran since 2002.
