The Turkmen-Russian school in Ashgabat celebrated Maslenitsa


The Joint Turkmen-Russian School named after A. S. Pushkin in Ashgabat celebrated the traditional East Slavic holiday – Maslenitsa, the MIR 24 TV channel reports.
A master class on making amulets and jewelry was organized for the students of the school. They also learned how to make a Maslenitsa charm doll with their own hands. It is considered a symbol of prosperity and is floated down the river, or burned on the last day of the holiday.
Of course, the event was not without pancakes, which were treated to guests. In 2023, Maslenitsa was celebrated from February 20 to February 26.
Maslenitsa is a celebration of seeing off winter and a solemn meeting of spring. It is celebrated 56 days before Easter.
