Turkmenistan Fencing Championship has started in Ashgabat
The Turkmenistan fencing championship on rapiers, sabres and swords among cadets and juniors has started in the Ashgabat sports complex.
The organizers of the tournament were the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Physical Culture and Sports together with the Fencing Federation of the country, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reports.
150 young athletes from all regions of the country take part in the championship of Turkmenistan.
On the first day of the tournament, competitions were held among cadets. In the "sabre" discipline among the boys. The pupil of Natalya Anikina, a representative of the sports school No. 1 of Mary Guvanch Gurdov, turned out to be the best.
Among the swordsmen, the first place was taken by the Balkanabat athlete Sergey Torin, who is engaged under the guidance of the coach of the sports school No. 1 of Balkanabat Tatyana Ermolaeva. Another pupil of the littoral region, Chynar Goshungeldyeva, showed the best result in the rapier discipline.
Competitions are held according to the rules of the International Fencing Federation (FIE).
According to the results of the tournament, the participants who demonstrate the best result will be awarded with medals and corresponding awards.
