More than 300,000 tons of cargo was transported by rail between Iran and Turkmenistan in the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 - February 19, 2023), up 57% over the corresponding period last year, IRNA reported.

Iran's exports during this period amounted to 170,000 tons, an increase of almost 10% compared to the same period last year. Citrus fruit, cement, chemicals, tiles and foodstuffs were the main commodities exported by rail. During this period, Iran imported 130,000 tons of goods.
