Turkmen athletes took part in the opening ceremony of the Winter Games "Children of Asia"
The team of Turkmenistan took part in the opening ceremony of the II Winter Games “Children of Asia-2023”, which took place at the Kuzbass Ice Palace in Kemerovo (Russia).
In the parade of participants, the teams entered the arena of the ice palace in alphabetical order in accordance with the capital letters of the names of the countries. Representatives of Armenia opened the parade.
The delegation of Turkmenistan included 17 people, including 10 athletes. The flag of the country at the opening ceremony was carried by the representative of the volleyball on the snow Furkat Sharipov.
During the event, vocal and choreographic numbers were presented, two-time Olympic champion in figure skating Evgeni Plushenko and silver medalist of the Beijing Olympics Alexandra Trusova performed with exhibition figure-skating.
Winter Games "Children of Asia" are held in Kuzbass from February 23 to March 5. The participants of the competition are young athletes from 12 countries and eight regions of Russia.
At these competitions, Turkmenistan is represented in three disciplines - figure skating, short track and snow volleyball.
