The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Kazakhstan has approved a list of professions valuable for the republic, the possession of which will allow foreigners to obtain a residence permit in a simplified manner, the press service of the department reported.

"The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population ... has approved a list of professions for which foreign citizens who have valuable professions for Kazakhstan in the field of science, healthcare, industry and IT can obtain a residence permit in the republic," the ministry's website says.

The order on approval of the list of demanded professions comes into effect from February 28.

"Foreigners with sought-after professions can apply for a residence permit in the internal affairs bodies in a simplified manner without confirming their solvency," the press release explains. A residence permit is issued with a validity period of 10 years or for the validity period of a foreigner's passport.

The list includes 21 professions in demand in the fields of healthcare, information and communication technologies, industry, science and other industries.

These are neurosurgeon, hematologist, oncologist, neonatologist, endocrinologist, research engineer for the technology of inorganic substances, research engineer for the technology of organic substances, pharmacy technology engineer, research engineer for the preparation of minerals, aviation engineer, hardware and software engineer of the space system, engineer for the introduction of new technology and technology, laser equipment engineer, research engineer on pulp, paper, printing and fiber production technology, medical radiochemist engineer, medical physicist engineer, classifier of textile raw materials, bacteriologist, IT infrastructure architect, software architect and master of industrial training (engineering).
