The Model United Nations conferences (MUN) is a series of programs run throughout the world with the goals of furthering understanding about the United Nations, educating participants about world issues and promoting peace and the work of the United Nations through cooperation and diplomacy.
The TAMUN will support and complement the initiative on the roll-out of the training materials developed by UNODC in Turkmenistan.
Consisting of various stages, it will be completed with a final MUN Conference later this year.

Today, students of the Turkmen State University (TSU), the Institute of International Relations of the MFA (IIR MFA), the International University for Humanities and Development (IUHD), alumni of the UNRCCA Preventive Diplomacy Academy, started a four-day preparatory training session for TAMUN. The session will be run by the Westminster International University in Tashkent which has rich experience in organizing the Model UN conferences on a regular basis at national and regional levels.
During the 1st day trainees will give general information as an introduction to the MUN world. Experts from WUIT will share their experience of organizing similar events in Uzbekistan. Each session will be followed by questions and answers session and discussion.

Day 2 is planned to be about Rules of Procedure in MUN, where they will acquire knowledge about detailed rules, terminologies, and formal language used in MUN. Day 3 will be dedicated to the Position Paper, where participants will practice writing the Position paper step by step. Moreover, in day 2, 3 and 4 UN representatives will have special trainings about Counter Terrorism, Crime prevention, Prevention and Countering Human Trafficking and about the central role of Human Rights.
