The International Information Center of Turkmenistan held talks with RT


An online meeting with employees of the international TV channel Russia Today took place at the International Information Center (IIC) of Turkmenistan. In addition to the management of the IIC, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs took part in the negotiations from the Turkmen side, on the other side of the screen were Yana Alexandrova, senior producer of the international cooperation service of Russia Today, Karina Melikyan, Deputy Executive Director of the International Cooperation Department of the TV channel, Maria Antonenko, chief producer of the Ruptly video agency, and Vartan Khachaturian, producer for work with Ruptly regional TV and radio companies.
During the meeting, the Turkmen delegation informed the colleagues about the fundamental goals, functions and tasks of the IIC of Turkmenistan, established in the structure of the State Committee for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography, including for establishing international contacts and expanding the network of foreign partners.
The talks focused on the readiness to intensify and expand the exchange of content with RT and Ruptly, and in addition to providing ready-made stories and materials, the possibility of conducting reportage filming in Turkmenistan specifically for Ruptly was considered. There are also interesting prospects in the field of joint projects through RT Doc, the documentary TV channel of the RT network.
Special attention was paid to cooperation in the field of internship programs for journalists, with visits both to the RT TV channel office in Moscow and to the CIS countries. We also agreed to cooperate more closely on the coverage of important events taking place in the Russian Federation and Turkmenistan. The issue of accreditation of RT and Ruptly reporters in Turkmenistan was raised.
