The sports delegation of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan participates in the VII Summer World War Games, the opening ceremony of which took place on October 18 in the Chinese city of Wuhan, the website of the Milli Goshun of the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan reports. The World Military Games is the world's largest sporting event after the Olympics. Over ten thousand athletes, coaches and representatives of technical personnel from more than 100 countries of the world arrived at them. The participation of Turkmen troops in these prestigious competitions will mark a new round in the development of sports in the country, which was made possible thanks to the entry of Turkmenistan into the International Council of Military Sports in April 2018. The first Turkmen delegation included ten people. Four of them are military athletes of the Central Sports Club of the Ministry of Defense. They will compete for the medals of the Games, which will be played in 329 (!) Sets. Muhammet Kurbanov (73 kg) and Guvanch Begaliev (90 kg) will compete in judo on October 19 and 20, respectively. Gerchek Khemraev (65 kg) and Sohbet Belliev (125 kg) will challenge the championship in freestyle wrestling on October 21 and 22. Games in 31 sports will end on October 28. From year to year, Turkmen servicemen demonstrate all the best results at various international competitions and have gained enough experience to participate in the World War Games. One of the best athletes of the Central Sports Club of the Ministry of Defense of the country is Junior Sergeant Guvanch Begaliev, who has proven superiority in several prestigious competitions. This year, Begaliyev won gold at the Grand Prix of Paris and the World Martial Arts Games in South Korean Chunju. This year, military athletes Vepa Orazmyradov, Jonibek Atadzhanov, Gaygysyz Atabaev and others also achieved good results.
