"We read with our nose" - an exhibition of book fragrances opened in St. Petersburg

A fragrant exhibition with the telling title "We read with our nose" has opened in St. Petersburg. The exhibits are unusual – book smells of literary works of the 20th century, reports the publication "St. Petersburg Vedomosti".
The library of book scents presents 30 bottles – this is only part of the collection of fragrances, one way or another related to Russian classical literature. The book comes complete with a "fragrant" bubble – it is worth opening the work and reading the marked quote, as the imagination immediately turns on and the book plot goes beyond the boundaries of the pages.
An unusual collection of fragrances was created by the methodologists of the State Literary Museum "XX century" together with professional perfumers. This is how milk and wormwood appeared in Gorky's novel "Mother", the smell of a tart bonfire in the Strugatskys' "Stalker". Visitors can also listen to what perfume Zoshchenko's "Blue Book" had and find out what other books by Russian writers smell like.
