Russian language teachers from the CIS gathered in St. Petersburg to replenish their knowledge in the great and mighty


Teachers from the Commonwealth countries gathered in St. Petersburg to replenish their knowledge in teaching Russian language and literature. For a whole week, 35 teachers from eight CIS countries – Armenia, Belarus and Central Asian states will undergo advanced training for foreign teachers as part of the Year of the Russian Language in the CIS, the publication reports russkiymir.ru .
The training is conducted by specialists from the St. Petersburg Academy of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education. They will share with colleagues from the post-Soviet space the methodology of teaching junior classes. The Ministry of Education, which oversees the project, believes that the emphasis should be placed on this age category.
All educational innovations developed for teaching the Russian language, teachers work out for themselves – here they conduct classes in a playful way and build teamwork between children and a block on individual teaching and the image of the teacher.
Classes for project participants will take place not only in classrooms. They also plan to study literature on the road – during the week they plan to visit a performance based on Ostrovsky's play, the Pushkin House and the Anna Akhmatova Museum. The course program also includes an introduction to the techniques of working with text, modern children's literature, morphology and vocabulary.
The winter session on improving the teaching of the Great and Mighty will end at the end of February, and in the summer, when the students go on vacation, specialists of the Russian language and literature will gather again in St. Petersburg.
