The Japanese city of Tendo may become a sister city of Arkadag

The presentation of the city of Arkadag took place in the Japanese city of Tendo. The event was held on Monday jointly by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Japan and the Tendo City Hall.

During the meeting, Turkmen Ambassador Atadurdy Bayramov presented detailed information to the heads of the local administration about the city of Arkadag and the key characteristics of this grandiose project being implemented in the Ahal region of the country with a focus on smart and green technologies.
Within the framework of the event, Atadurdy Bayramov met with the mayor of Tendo Shinji Yamamoto. Issues related to the establishment of twinning relations between the cities of Arkadag and Tendo were also considered, according to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

In 2019, shortly after the decree on the construction of a new administrative center of the Ahal region was issued, a delegation of Turkmenistan headed by the current President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who at that time was chairman of the Turkmen-Japanese Interparliamentary Friendship Group of the Mejlis, Deputy Governor of the Ahal region, visited the city of Tendo and discussed cooperation with representatives of the mayoralty of a Japanese city. It was then that it was proposed for the first time to establish twinning relations between the Turkmen and Japanese cities.
