Turkmenistan and Armenia discussed the development of cultural and humanitarian cooperation


Prospects for deepening cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere were discussed during the meeting of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Armenia Muhametgeldi Ayazov with the newly appointed Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia Zhanna Andreasyan. This is reported in the press release of the diplomatic mission.
Stressing the need to intensify cooperation between higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan and Armenia, the parties noted that draft agreements between economic universities and music conservatories of the two countries are currently being prepared. Agreements are being successfully implemented between the Magtymguly Turkmen State University and Yerevan State University, as well as agricultural universities of friendly states.
The Days of Culture of Turkmenistan in Armenia are planned to be held in Yerevan this year. In this regard, the Turkmen diplomat proposed to organize an international conference and concert dedicated to the great Turkmen poet-thinker Magtymguly Pyragy, whose 300th anniversary will be solemnly celebrated in 2024.
Touching upon the issues of expanding cooperation in the field of sports, Zhanna Andreasyan invited Turkmen athletes to regular training camps in sports complexes of Armenia. The Minister also noted that the country is aimed at holding major international competitions.
