Turkmenistan has co-authored a new resolution of the UN Commission on Social Development


Turkmenistan co-authored the resolution of the UN Commission on Social Development "Policies and programs with the participation of youth", according to the website of the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the UN.
The document was adopted at the 61st session of the Commission. The resolution emphasizes the role of youth in sustainable development at the national, regional and global levels.
During the meeting, a number of other resolutions and decisions aimed at strengthening multilateral cooperation in promoting socially oriented goals, which are enshrined in the 2030 Agenda, were also considered.
Turkmenistan, as a member of the UN Commission for Social Development, spoke at the meeting for joint efforts to invest in human potential — in health and education, strengthening social protection measures, improving the global food system.
This year's session of the UN Commission for Social Development was held under the slogan "Creating full and productive employment and decent work for all as a way to overcome inequality to accelerate recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development".
The Commission for Social Development is a body of the UN Economic and Social Council. It includes 46 UN member states. The Commission's tasks include promoting development, monitoring the implementation of international standards in the field of social policy at the country and international level.
