Export of Turkmen food products to Russia increased by 90% – Ambassador Blokhin


Turkmenistan has increased exports of textile products to Russia by 50%, and food products by 90%, which reflects the positive dynamics of foreign economic relations between the two states. This is stated in the article of the Russian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Alexander Blokhin, published today in the official Turkmen press.
According to the head of the Russian diplomatic corps, relations between Turkmenistan and Russia are currently sealed by more than 360 agreements and are of a strategic nature.
Blokhin noted the importance of bilateral cooperation in energy, agriculture, industry, IT and cultural and humanitarian areas. Thus, the Russian COVID-19 vaccines, which became the first registered by the Turkmen Ministry of Healthcare and Medical Industry, successfully immunized the population of Turkmenistan.
Touching upon the issues of trade and economic cooperation, the Ambassador stressed the prospects of Turkmenistan's role in transport and logistics within the framework of international transit corridors, as well as the establishment of strong relations between the country and the subjects of the Russian Federation - Tatarstan, Chelyabinsk and Astrakhan regions.
Russian companies Gazprom, KamAZ, Tatneft, Vozrozhdenie and others are successfully operating in Turkmenistan.
Regarding cultural and educational cooperation, the Ambassador highlighted the importance of implementing projects for the opening of the Turkmen-Russian University, the construction of a new building of the Pushkin State Russian Drama Theater and a new building of a joint comprehensive Turkmen-Russian secondary school. At the moment, there are more than 70 schools in Turkmenistan, which have classes with instruction in Russian.
