Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General Natalia German

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met on Tuesday with Natalia German, who is completing her mission as Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (RCPCA).
The Head of State thanked Natalia German for her fruitful activity and great personal contribution to the development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UN, congratulating her on her appointment as Executive Director of the Executive Directorate of the UN Counter-Terrorism Committee.
During the meeting, it was noted that partnership with the UN is one of the key vectors of the foreign policy of neutral Turkmenistan. Currently, cooperation is carried out in a wide range of areas, including in such important areas as ensuring peace and security, sustainable energy and transport, solving economic, social, humanitarian and environmental issues, and implementing Sustainable Development Goals.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov called preventive diplomacy a popular tool in identifying and eliminating potential threats to peace and security. In this regard, a special role is assigned to the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia, founded in 2007 by a decision of the UN General Assembly with the support of neighboring countries and members of the Security Council, headquartered in Ashgabat.

The RCPCA has established itself as an effective platform linking the UN system with the countries of Central Asia in finding solutions in response to new challenges. Turkmenistan supports the work of the Center, including in the development of political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the states of the region.
Cooperation is also being carried out in maintaining regional security, including the implementation of the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy, within the framework of which the 4th phase of the implementation of the joint Action plan on Countering terrorism in Central Asia is currently being implemented. Such mechanisms of multilateral diplomacy as the Academy of Preventive Diplomacy and the Women's Dialogue of Central Asian Countries are successfully functioning.
Natalia German thanked for the support provided over the years in the activities of the mission headed by her and highly appreciated the initiative approach of the Turkmen side to the pressing problems of our time and building multi-format cooperation, stressing that Turkmenistan, which has accumulated solid peacekeeping experience over the years of its sovereign development, acts as a reliable and long-term partner of the UN in the Central Asian region. Also, over the years of cooperation, the country has become the author of many Resolutions on topical issues of the world agenda, including the declaration of 2023 as the International Year of Dialogue as a Guarantee of Peace.
