Sakura blossomed earlier than usual in the Japanese city of Kawazu. This flowering is the earliest in the last decade. Winter cherry blossoms appeared in the garden on the banks of a local river, the MIR 24 TV channel reports.

For the first time in a long time after the offensive restrictions, Japanese residents can freely go outside to admire the flowering and smell the cherry blossoms. In the garden of the city of Kawazu, about 850 Japanese cherries grow along the river. About 70 of them are already blooming. The Tourism Association of Shizuoka Prefecture reports that Japanese cherries can be admired until the end of February.

Cherry blossoms in Japan usually occur from mid-March to early May. Reporting the first flowers that appear is a long–standing Japanese tradition.
