UNESCO Director General: Digital education will never replace face-to-face learning

Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Audrey Azoulay said that digital education will never replace full-time education, TV BRICS reports following the results of the International Conference on Digital Transformation held in China.
The Chinese side, which hosts the conference, emphasized the important role of digitalization in reducing the gap between rural and urban areas, as well as ensuring equal access to the educational process.
The head of UNESCO, in turn, noted that digital learning has its advantages, but this type of knowledge acquisition should be more inclusive.
More than 800 participants from more than 100 countries reviewed the state of professional education and the development of intelligent training programs, digital resources and their accessibility for teachers and students. An initiative was also put forward to create a global partnership to form an association for the development of digital education.
The conference was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and the Turkmen Embassy in China.
