The Uzbek authorities intend to intensify the transportation of goods through the Kazakh port of Aktau to Europe as part of the Trans-Caspian international transport route, the Dunyo news agency of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry reported on Monday.
According to the agency, Consul General of Uzbekistan in Aktau Atabek Tursynbekov and Chairman of the Board of JSC "NC Aktau Commercial Sea Port" Abay Turikpenbaev discussed the export of Uzbek products to Europe through this Kazakh sea harbor.
"The head of the Aktau Commercial Sea Port ... expressed his readiness to accept applications from Uzbek exporters for the transshipment of goods through the Aktau Commercial Sea Port and provide them with special preferential services," the Dunyo website said in a statement.
As noted in the agency, Turikpenbaev stressed that the expansion of the port's capabilities will become an alternative way for Uzbek entrepreneurs to enter European markets in the future.
