Craftswomen from Turkmenistan can apply for inclusion of their works in the catalog of Central Asian artisans. This is stated in the message of the USAID Trade Program in Central Asia.

Applications are accepted online until February 24, 2023 by link. In the online form, you must provide detailed information about your activity by answering all the questions you have asked, and attach photos of your work. If available, you can provide a catalog of your products.

The competition jury will select 10 artisans from Turkmenistan for inclusion in the catalog. Candidates will be evaluated based on criteria such as making handicrafts to preserve cultural heritage and traditional knowledge; having positive feedback from specialists; having the potential to expand the market for their products; and methods of disseminating information about products (not limited to having a website or social media accounts).

It will also take into account the experience of participating in national or international exhibitions, interaction with women's groups of artisans in rural areas, as well as with people with disabilities and other vulnerable segments of the population, the availability of an electronic catalog and experience in exporting products.

The final decision on the selection and inclusion in the catalog will be announced after February 27.

The catalog is being prepared by the USAID Central Asia Trade Program in partnership with the Smithsonian Institution and the U.S. Department of Commerce's Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP). It is designed to increase women's economic activity and promote trade relations between the countries of Central Asia and beyond.
