For the first time in history, world time can be set back

The Earth's rotation rate has been increasing in recent years, and to compensate for it, humanity needs to subtract one second from world time, that is, translate it back one second. This will have to be done around 2028.
This was stated by the chief researcher of the Department of Advanced Research and measurement of time and frequency of the All-Russian Research Institute of Physical, Technical and Radio Engineering Measurements Vitaly Palchikov in an interview with RIA Novosti.
At the moment, there is no exact explanation for why the Earth's rotation is accelerating. One of the consequences of the acceleration was that June 29, 2022 was the shortest day in history. Until recently, our planet, on the contrary, slowed down its rotation.
