Ashgabat and Tehran will prepare a roadmap for cooperation in the field of culture


The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met on Tuesday with the Minister of Culture and Islamic Orientation of Iran Mohammad Mahdi Esmaili.
The Ministers noted the importance of the official visit of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Iran in June last year, during which a solid package of documents was signed, which gave impetus to the activation of scientific and educational contacts and interaction in the field of culture and art.
The sides agreed that the cultural and humanitarian direction is an integral part of fraternal Turkmen-Iranian relations, which have a close relationship in the history, culture and traditions of the two peoples, according to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The interlocutors thoroughly considered the possibilities of developing cooperation in the field of culture, science, music and art, in the field of mass media, broadcasting and cinematography, book business and publishing.
Attention was paid to holding joint events within the framework of the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Pyragy, carrying out cross-actions on the occasion of the Novruz holiday, establishing direct contacts between cultural and scientific institutions of the two countries, strengthening the legal framework in this area, as well as preparing a Roadmap for cooperation in this area.
The head of the Iranian delegation, who is in Ashgabat to participate in the Days of Culture of Iran in Turkmenistan, stressed that these events act as another effective step towards strengthening friendship, good neighborliness and mutual respect.
