Turkmenistan is preparing a second Voluntary National Review on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. The draft document was considered at a meeting of the Working Group on SDGs, according to the UN Office in Turkmenistan's Instagram page.

The team members, together with international expert Bakytgul Kambar, discussed issues related to the report preparation process, including the submission of data and analytical materials by ministries and departments. They also outlined further steps to implement the SDGs in the country.

Turkmenistan will present its second Voluntary National SDG Review at the UN High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development in June 2023.

The document provides for the presentation of progress in addressing gender issues and measures to improve gender policy, as well as further integration of this issue into national and sectoral programs.

The document is being prepared as part of the second phase of the joint project of the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan and UNDP "Platform for the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals".
