The American Embassy invites Turkmen teachers to the United States for advanced training


The US Embassy in Turkmenistan invites teachers to take part in the Professional Development Program within the framework of Fulbright 2024 educational grants, the website of the American diplomatic mission reports.
Participants will travel to the USA in January or September 2024. They have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of their subject, get acquainted with the latest teaching methods, work with textbooks and texts, as well as undergo a 40-hour internship at one of the American schools in Washington, DC.
The scholarship for the six-week program fully covers visa support, air travel to the United States, academic program, accommodation and meals, medical insurance, transportation, unforeseen expenses, books, manuals and seminars. Various cultural events are also planned throughout the stay in the USA.
Full-time teachers of schools and educational centers with five years of experience teaching schoolchildren from 12 to 18 years old can participate in the competition; teachers who have additional classes in charge, who have 50% of their working time devoted to teaching middle and high school classes; teachers who plan to work as a teacher for another five years after the end of the program.
Only citizens of Turkmenistan with higher education and a minimum TOEFL score of 450 can apply (testing is provided). Representatives of the school administration, university teachers and private tutors are not allowed to participate in the Program.
