The mayor of Paris refused to limit the number of spectators at the opening ceremony of the Olympics

Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo has refused to limit the number of spectators at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. The ceremony is scheduled to take place on the Seine River.
According to preliminary estimates, the number of spectators at the opening of the Olympics may exceed 600 thousand people, including 100 thousand ticket holders and another 500 thousand people on high piers above the river. About 10,500 athletes from more than 200 countries can take part in the riverboat parade.
According to Hidalgo, the mayor's office is working closely with French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin and Chairman of the organizing committee for the 2024 Olympics in Paris to successfully organize the opening and closing ceremonies of the competition.
"It should be beautiful, unusual and safe both for the athletes who will be marching on boats, and for all the spectators. It is important that the work is done wisely and with respect for the role of everyone, " the mayor said.
The 2024 Olympic Games in Paris are scheduled to open on July 26, 2024.
