The Chairman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan received credentials from the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Australia to Turkmenistan


On February 15, on behalf of the Respected President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the Chairman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan received credentials from the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Australia to Turkmenistan Greim Leslie Meehan.
On behalf of the head of state, the head of the national parliament congratulated the ambassador on his appointment to a responsible diplomatic post, wishing him success in strengthening the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
Thanking for the good wishes, the Ambassador, in turn, conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to Dear President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on behalf of the Governor-General of Australia David Hurley.
During the conversation, the ambassador was informed about the key aspects of the state policy of Turkmenistan and the main goals and objectives of the reform programs being implemented in the country to ensure the dynamic development of the national economy, improve the social sphere and improve the welfare of citizens. The diplomat was also familiarized with the structure and multifaceted activities of the Mejlis, primarily within the framework of the ongoing comprehensive modernization of the country's legal framework.
As part of the exchange of views on the priorities of the Turkmen-Australian partnership, the meeting participants noted with satisfaction the existence of a huge potential for building up productive cooperation. Trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres were named among the key vectors of bilateral ties. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of further interaction within the framework of international organizations, primarily the United Nations.
In conclusion, the head of the Mejlis and the diplomat expressed confidence that in the near future relations between our states will develop into a full-scale partnership that meets the realities of modern times and mutual interests and will successfully develop based on the goodwill of the peoples of the two countries.
