Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan thanked all the countries that provided assistance to the country affected by large-scale earthquakes, Anadolu agency reports.

"Turkey will not forget the helping hand extended in a difficult moment," Erdogan said in a video message to the participants of the World Government Summit organized on the initiative of the UAE.

Stating that Turkey is facing one of the largest natural disasters in its history, the head of state expressed confidence that thanks to the support of the people, the country will be able to eliminate the consequences of the disaster in a short time.

"Some states have sent rescuers to Turkey, some have shown solidarity by initiating campaigns to collect aid. Some States have made statements of support to Ankara. This disaster has once again proved the importance of international solidarity," the Turkish leader said.

At the moment, Turkmenistan has twice sent humanitarian aid to Turkey due to devastating earthquakes. There are also Turkmen doctors and nurses helping the victims. In Ashgabat, there was a movement to collect humanitarian aid to the Turkish people.
