Turkmen schoolchildren won medals of the International Olympiad in Natural Sciences


Turkmen schoolchildren have won 2 silver and 3 bronze medals at the International Zhautykov Olympiad in Mathematics, physics and computer science among schoolchildren, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reports.
Rahim Agamyradov from the 86th specialized school of Ashgabat and Davut Muhammetgurbanov from the 46th specialized school of the Ak Bugdai district of the Ahal region ascended to the second step of the podium, and Kerimguly Bendov and Selim Halykov from the 86th specialized school of the capital and the S.Turkmenbashi boarding school — to the third. Alikhan Zhumabayev, a student of secondary school №26 in Dashoguz, also won the bronze medal.
More than 1.2 thousand students from 26 countries took part in the prestigious international competition. Of these, 515 are in mathematics, 385 are in computer science, and 341 are in physics.
The Zhautyk Olympiad was initially aimed at students of physics and mathematics classes in schools in Russia and Kazakhstan, but it quickly gained popularity and went beyond its usual boundaries. This year it was attended by schoolchildren from Turkmenistan, Germany, Romania, Bulgaria, Georgia, Belarus, Russia, India, Azerbaijan, Mongolia, Indonesia, Vietnam and other countries.
