Istanbul Gas Summit Postponed to March 22 - Turkish Energy Ministry


A number of media reported that the holding of the Istanbul Gas Summit will be postponed from February 14-15 to March 22 due to earthquakes in Turkey. This information was confirmed by the Turkish Energy Ministry, TASS reports.
The ministry noted that at present all departments are involved in the elimination of the consequences of earthquakes in Turkey. The leadership of departments is also located in the disaster region.
Thus, according to the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Donmez, who is working these days in the affected areas, more than 8,900 miners from the Turkish Coal Institute and the Turkish Coal Enterprises Agency, as well as private mining companies, were transferred for search and rescue work in the earthquake zone.
The death toll from the February 6 earthquake in Turkey rose to 19,388. 77,711 people were affected. This was announced by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday during a speech in the province of Malatya.
The country has declared national mourning until February 12, 2023.
