Iran hosts ECOSF meeting


The 7th Executive Meeting of the ECO Scientific Foundation (ECOSF) is scheduled to be held in Isfahan, central Iran, on February 13-14.
ECOSF President Komail Tayebi told reporters on Sunday that the meeting in Isfahan will be devoted to making decisions and planning the fund for the next three years.
ECOSF is a specialized institute working within ECO with the aim of promoting economic growth based on science, technology and innovation.
The Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO/ECO) is an intergovernmental organization comprising Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey and Uzbekistan, which strives for the economic development of member States with a total population of 500 million people.
The functions of ECOSF include assessment of the existing training base in the region and development of training programs for the training of highly qualified scientific and technical personnel; development of programs to strengthen scientific, engineering and research institutes; review of problem areas faced by member countries in the field of technology; promotion of targeted research projects, etc. The headquarters of the organization is located in Islamabad, Pakistan.
