The Ministers of Health of Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation are ready to expand cooperation
The Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko and the Minister of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan Atageldi Germanov discussed the most pressing issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of health protection. The meeting was held in a videoconference format on Friday. This is reported by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Health.
Mikhail Murashko elaborated on the possibilities of cooperation in the field of drug provision, stressing that many high-quality and affordable medicines and medical products are produced in Russia.
— Today, 70% of medicines of domestic production are on the Russian pharmaceutical market. While maintaining high quality standards, they are often cheaper than imported analogues. Innovative drugs are also produced in Russia, which are used for the treatment of oncological, rheumatological, orphan diseases," the minister said.
Mikhail Murashko invited Atageldi Germanov to take part in the Healthy Society Forum, which will be held in St. Petersburg in the spring. At the event, it will be possible to discuss in more detail the areas of cooperation in the field of healthcare and medical education that are of the greatest interest to both sides.
— Within the framework of the forum, there will be an opportunity to visit the leading medical centers of the Ministry of Health of Russia in St. Petersburg to get acquainted with their achievements and capabilities. Almazov National Medical Research Center provides assistance to patients with cardiovascular diseases, its surgeons perform unique high-tech operations. Children with injuries and diseases of the musculoskeletal system from all over the world go to the NMC of Pediatric Traumatology and Orthopedics named after Turner. The Petrov Oncology Research Center uses the most modern methods of diagnosis and treatment of malignant neoplasms," the minister noted.
Atageldi Germanov thanked Mikhail Murashko for the invitation and added that Turkmenistan is very much looking forward to the visit of specialists in the field of healthcare and medicine from Russia, appreciate the quality of Russian medical education and are interested in expanding cooperation in such areas as oncology, pediatric surgery and obstetrics.
