USAID has launched the first IT program for girls in Turkmenistan

The USAID Project for the Development of Entrepreneurship and the business environment in Turkmenistan has launched the country's first DigiWomen Camp program, designed to create new employment opportunities for girls and women in the field of information and communication technologies.

The program will provide a unique opportunity to master programming skills for girls and women over the age of 16 living in Turkmenabat, Mary, Dashoguz, Ashgabat and Ahal region. They will be able to master web programming, mobile application development, backend development (Python) and learn how to create product design.

The courses will allow the participants of the program to develop skills for starting and developing a career. They will also have the opportunity to start a personal IT business by launching their own digital product.

The DigiWomen Camp program will last 4 months and will consist of 5 stages:

1.IT Academy;
2.Courses on IT and business skills from HP LIFE;
3.School for IT freelancers;
4.Hackathon for the development of technological startup projects;
5.Final Pitch Day.

The best projects will have the opportunity to join the FoundHer Central Asian Women Startups Network acceleration program, which will be launched by Plug and Play in May 2023.

The program is implemented by the USAID Project for the Development of Entrepreneurship and the Business Environment in Turkmenistan in cooperation with the US Embassy in Ashgabat, HP Kazakhstan and the Sanly Bilim Educational Center in Turkmenistan.

The deadline for submitting an application is 23:59 on February 18, 2023. Participants will be selected on a competitive basis, as places are limited.
