The World Bank will allocate $1.78 billion to Turkey for reconstruction after the earthquake

The head of the World Bank, David Malpass, said that the bank will provide Turkey with $ 1 billion 780 million to help with rescue and recovery work after devastating earthquakes and aftershocks, Anadolu agency reports.
The financial institution has also begun a rapid damage assessment process to identify the extent of the disaster and identify priority areas in need of rehabilitation and reconstruction.
According to Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, 6,479 rescuers from 56 countries are currently working in the disaster zone.
The death toll as a result of a devastating earthquake in southeastern Turkey has exceeded 16 thousand people.
