Uzbekistan will celebrate the 540th anniversary of the great poet and scientist Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur
The 540th anniversary of the great poet and scientist Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur will be widely celebrated in Uzbekistan. The decree was signed by the President of the country Shavkat Mirziyoyev, "Yangi Uzbekistan" reports.
The document instructed to create an organizing committee to celebrate the anniversary of the outstanding Uzbek statesman, to approve the program of events.
Also, in order to widely popularize the instructive life and rich heritage of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, together with the Babur International Public Foundation, was instructed to implement the international tourism propaganda program "Babur's Legacy", the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation from 2023/2024 academic year to establish a state scholarship named after Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur for university students in the areas of "history" and "geography".
As part of the celebration of the 540th anniversary of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur, an international scientific electronic platform and a mobile application on Babu studies in Uzbek, Russian and English will be created.
Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur was an encyclopedic scholar, statesman and a talented commander. His invaluable scientific and creative heritage occupies a special place in the formation of the national culture not only of the Uzbek people, but also in the history of world literature, science and statehood.
The poet's birthday — February 14 — is celebrated annually in Uzbekistan as a holiday of literature, science and enlightenment. A lot of research is conducted in the field of Babur studies, republican and international scientific conferences are regularly organized.
Majestic monuments have been erected in Tashkent and Andijan, where the great poet was born and grew up.
