The volume of cargo transportation in Kazakhstan along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TMTM) increased 2.5 times in 2022 and amounted to 1.5 million tons of cargo, The Astana Times reports following a meeting of the TMTM Association.
The export of Kazakh goods increased 6.5 times and amounted to 891 thousand tons. Also in 2022, 33 thousand 600 containers of twenty-foot equivalent were transported, which is 33% more than in 2021.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to increase the volume of cargo transportation and launch a regular shuttle train to create a single transit service.
