The Ambassador of Turkmenistan took part in discussions with Putin on the situation in Afghanistan

Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting on the Afghan issue with security representatives of a number of countries on Wednesday.
The meeting was attended by Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev, as well as his colleagues - national security advisers and Security Council secretaries - from India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
Turkmenistan and China were represented by the heads of diplomatic missions in the Russian Federation. In particular, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan Batyr Niyazlyev took part in the discussions.
Earlier, security representatives held the fifth multilateral meeting. It took place in person in Moscow. The fourth round of such consultations took place in Dushanbe in May last year, and the third in November 2021 in New Delhi.
Putin periodically talks with security representatives from foreign countries. So, last September and October he had meetings with the heads of security agencies and special services of the CIS states. They also touched upon the situation in Afghanistan.
Opening the next meeting, the President of the Russian Federation noted that there is a lot of conflict potential in the world today, "including in the Ukrainian direction."
— We are well aware of this, we are aware of this. But this does not reduce the importance of the situation in Afghanistan, and it has always been important for us, and today it is doubly important, because we do not want any more points of tension to arise on our southern borders," Putin said.
He noted that millions of people in Afghanistan need urgent humanitarian assistance. "The situation is very complicated, but we are doing everything to ensure that solutions are found. We have established contacts with the Afghan leadership in Kabul. We know that there are good plans to implement major economic projects that could stabilize the situation in the economy," the head of the Russian Federation said. This is reported on the Kremlin's website.
